Mobile app development
Pixcen is a mobile app development agency based in Lebanon and the UAE. We design, build and launch iOS, Android and web apps for startups and established companies in the Gulf, the Levant, the US and Europe. The same team covers product design, engineering, back-end, store submission and updates after launch.
An app is only useful if people keep it on their home screen. That depends on the unglamorous parts being right: sign-in that works the first time, payments that do not fail, notifications that arrive, and screens that stay fast on an older phone.
We take an app from a rough idea to a published product. Senior mobile and full-stack engineers build it, a UX/UI designer shapes every screen, and you see working builds on your own phone throughout the project.
What is included
Product definition
We turn the idea into a feature list, user flows and a first version that is small enough to launch and large enough to be useful.
UX and UI design
Clickable prototypes you can test before any code is written, then a full design system for the app.
iOS and Android
Native or cross-platform builds, chosen for the product and budget, not for our convenience.
Web apps and dashboards
Browser-based apps and admin panels for the team that runs the product.
Back-end and APIs
Databases, authentication, business logic and integrations with payment, maps, messaging and other services.
Payments and notifications
In-app payments, subscriptions, push notifications and transactional email set up and tested end to end.
Store launch
App Store and Google Play listings, screenshots, review submission and the fixes reviewers ask for.
Maintenance
Updates for new OS versions, monitoring, bug fixes and new features after launch.
How an app project runs
Scope
A workshop to agree on the first version. You get a feature list, a timeline and a fixed quote.
Prototype
We design the main flows as a clickable prototype and adjust them with you.
Build in sprints
Every two weeks you receive a new build to install and test, so there are no surprises at the end.
Test
We test on real devices, fix issues and prepare the store listings.
Launch and improve
We submit to the stores, watch crash and usage data, and plan the next release with you.
Native or cross-platform?
Cross-platform frameworks let one codebase run on both iOS and Android, which usually lowers cost and shortens the timeline. Native development makes sense when the app depends heavily on device features, demanding animation or maximum performance.
We work with both approaches and recommend one after we understand the product. The decision is explained in the proposal, with the trade-offs written down.
Which kind of app do you need?
| Type | Best for | Runs on |
|---|---|---|
| Cross-platform app | Most business and consumer apps, faster launch | iOS and Android from one codebase |
| Native app | Heavy use of camera, sensors, graphics or offline data | iOS or Android, built separately |
| Web app | Tools used mainly on desktop, internal systems, dashboards | Any browser, no store approval |

Frequently asked questions
How much does it cost to build an app?
Cost depends on the number of features, the platforms, and how much back-end work is needed. We scope a first version with you and send a fixed quote, so you know the full price before development starts.
How long does it take to build an app?
A focused first version usually takes three to five months from scope to store launch. Larger products are delivered in phases so that something useful ships early.
Do you build for both iOS and Android?
Yes. Most of our apps launch on both platforms. Depending on the product we use a cross-platform framework or separate native builds.
Do you handle App Store and Google Play submission?
Yes. We prepare the listings, screenshots and privacy details, submit the app, and handle any changes the review teams request.
Who owns the code?
You do. When the project is paid, the source code, designs and accounts belong to you.
Do you maintain the app after launch?
Yes. We offer maintenance covering OS updates, monitoring, bug fixes and new features, so the app keeps working as phones and store rules change.
Can you take over an existing app?
Yes. We start with a code review, tell you honestly what state it is in, and then either continue the existing codebase or propose a rebuild.
